Global Ocean Freight Research Manager

Responsibilities:

• Actively manage and develop global dry bulk freight analysis by monitoring seaborne-commodities markets on a world-wide scope and by examining shipbuilding activity.
• Research function closely associated with trading team in US/Geneva/China through daily dialogue.
• Filter and synthesize multiple markets factors into a summary.
• Forge an independent opinion and express it within a probabilistic risk scope.

Core Competence Requirements:

• At least 5 years experience, notably in Chinese basic material sector (preferably metal, mining or energy) from investment bank, corporate or consulting background.
• Good understanding of both (global) macro and micro economics.
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to call into question one's own assumptions.
• Astuteness in seek goal-oriented solutions.
• Prompt to regularly dealing with voluminous statistical data series.
• Excellent command of excel.
• Excellent English and mandarin proficiency.
• Multicultural team management.
